Dog-Friendly Wedding Venues in Charlotte and Beyond
every pet policy on this list confirmed by phone
If you want your dog in your wedding, the venue’s pet policy is the first thing to settle. In my post on whether your dog should be in your wedding, I put it near the top of the list for a reason. A dream ceremony plan falls apart quickly if the venue only allows dogs on the lawn, or not at all.
The trouble is that most lists of dog-friendly wedding venues in Charlotte are copied from one another and rarely updated. Some of the venues I found on those lists told me they do not allow dogs at weddings.
So I picked up the phone. Every venue below was contacted directly in September and October 2026, and I asked each one the same questions: where dogs can go, whether there is a fee, what the leash rules are, and whether they expect a dedicated handler. I also used each call to introduce myself to the venue’s coordinator, so many of these teams now know me as the person to call when a couple asks about bringing their dog.

Policies can change, so always confirm the details in your venue contract.
The list covers the Charlotte area first, then the mountains, Greenville, and Charleston for couples planning a destination wedding.
How to Read a Venue’s Pet Policy
“dog-friendly” can mean a lot of things
When a venue says it is dog-friendly, it rarely means your dog can go everywhere all day. Here is what the policies on this list usually look like:
- Ceremony and photos only. This is the most common policy. Your dog can walk down the aisle and pose for portraits, then leaves before the reception and food service begin.
- Outdoor areas only. Many historic homes and gardens allow dogs on the grounds but not inside the buildings.
- Full participation. A smaller group of venues welcomes dogs at the ceremony, the reception, and the photos.
- A dedicated handler. Nearly every venue I spoke with requires or recommends that someone other than the couple be responsible for the dog all day. A few also ask that the handler carry insurance.
Most venues also ask that dogs stay leashed, be well behaved, and be current on vaccines.
Dog-Friendly Wedding Venues in the Charlotte Area
close to home
The Revelry North End, Charlotte
I know this one firsthand. In October 2026, I cared for Kobe, a Siberian husky in a tuxedo, at Jenny and Seth’s wedding at this Camp North End venue. Kobe was part of the ceremony, the reception, and the photos. See photos from Kobe’s wedding or visit The Revelry North End.
The Duke Mansion, Charlotte
This historic Myers Park estate welcomes dogs for outdoor ceremonies and photos, but not the reception. There is no pet fee. Dogs must be leashed, a dedicated handler is expected, and there is room on the property for potty breaks. Visit The Duke Mansion.
PINE, Charlotte
One of the most dog-inclusive venues on this list. PINE allows dogs at the ceremony, the reception, and photos, both indoors and outdoors, with no pet fee. Dogs must be leashed and well behaved, a handler is expected, and there is an outdoor relief area. Visit PINE.
The Yorkmont, Charlotte
The Yorkmont considers dogs case by case, so every part of the day requires pre-approval from the venue. Once approved, dogs must be leashed with a dedicated handler, and the venue has space for walks and water breaks. Visit The Yorkmont.
Beau Monde Venues: The Ruth, The Casey, and The Collector's Room, Charlotte
All three Beau Monde venues share the same policy. Dogs are welcome for the ceremony and photos, indoors or outdoors, but not the reception. There is no pet fee and no breed restriction, but dogs must be current on vaccines, leashed, and accompanied by a handler. Visit Beau Monde Venues.
The Grand Venue, York, SC
Just over the state line, The Grand Venue allows dogs at outdoor ceremonies and photos, but not in the reception. There is no pet fee, though you are responsible for cleanup. Dogs must be leashed, a handler is required, and there is no breed or size restriction. Visit The Grand Venue.
Carolina Country Weddings, Mount Pleasant, NC
Dogs are welcome at outdoor ceremonies and photos, away from food service. There is no pet fee, but the pet handler must carry insurance, which I do. Dogs must be leashed, and the venue provides a waiting and potty area. Visit Carolina Country Weddings.
Brentwood Farms, Locust, NC
This farm venue welcomes dogs for the ceremony and photos, indoors or outdoors, but not the reception. There is no pet fee or breed restriction. Dogs must be leashed with a dedicated handler, and there is space for potty breaks and water.
Dog-Friendly Wedding Venues in the North Carolina Mountains
worth the drive
The Venue, Asheville, NC
This downtown Asheville venue allows dogs at the ceremony, the reception, and photos, as long as food is not being served at the time. The event space is indoors, with potty breaks outside. There is no pet fee, and dogs must be leashed with a handler. The coordinator told me they rarely have dogs at events, so plan the timing with them early. Visit The Venue.
Overlook Barn, Banner Elk, NC
This mountaintop venue welcomes dogs for the ceremony and photos, indoors or outdoors. There is no pet fee or breed restriction. Dogs must be leashed with a dedicated handler, and there is no designated relief area, so a handler who knows the grounds helps. Visit Overlook Barn.

Dogs are welcome at the ceremony, the reception, and photos, indoors and outdoors. There is no event pet fee. If your dog stays overnight in the optional guest house, the fee is $50 per dog, with a two-dog maximum. Dogs must be leashed with a handler. Visit Aurora Farms.

This downtown rooftop venue allows dogs at outdoor ceremonies and photos, but not the reception. There is no pet fee unless there is a mess, in which case the charge is $500. Dogs must be leashed with a handler, and the relief area is near the parking lot. Visit Avenue.
Events at Judson Mill, Greenville, SC
This restored mill welcomes dogs at outdoor ceremonies and photos, but not the reception. There is no pet fee. The venue allows up to two well-behaved dogs, requires a leash and a handler, and holds the couple responsible for any liability. Visit Events at Judson Mill.

Magnolia Plantation & Gardens, Charleston, SC

The Island House, Johns Island, SC
This waterfront venue allows dogs at the ceremony and photos, indoors or outdoors, but not on the furniture. There is no pet fee, but the venue requires a certificate of insurance from the pet attendant. Dogs must be leashed with a handler. Visit The Island House.
Questions to Ask a Venue That Is Not on This List
the same questions I asked
If your venue is not listed here, these are the questions I used on every call. Ask them before you sign, and get the answers in writing.
- Can our dog be part of the ceremony? The reception? Photos only?
- Are dogs allowed indoors, outdoors, or both?
- Is there a pet fee, a deposit, or an insurance requirement?
- What are the leash rules?
- Do you require or recommend a dedicated pet handler?
- Where can a dog wait, take potty breaks, and get water during the event?
- Are there any breed or size restrictions?
And if you are not sure where to start, send me your venue’s name. If I have not called them yet, I am happy to.
What a Wedding Pet Attendant Handles Once the Venue Says Yes
so you can focus on each other
Almost every venue on this list asks for a dedicated handler, and that is exactly what I do. As your Wedding & Event Pet Attendant, I take care of:
- Transportation to and from the venue
- A walk and potty break before the ceremony
- Handling during the ceremony, whether your dog is a ring bearer, a flower dog, or a guest of honor
- Photo assistance, working with your photographer and planner
- Water, shade, and quiet breaks throughout the day
- Taking your dog home or back to the hotel when the venue’s dog-friendly portion ends
I am Pet First Aid & CPCR certified, a member of Pet Sitters International, fully insured, bonded, and background-check cleared. For venues that ask for a handler’s certificate of insurance, I can provide one.
I am based in South Charlotte and travel for weddings throughout the Carolinas. Travel fees apply beyond 30 miles, and destinations more than three hours away are quoted individually.
Frequently Asked Questions
quick answers for couples
Which Charlotte wedding venues allow dogs?
The Revelry North End, The Duke Mansion, PINE, The Yorkmont (with pre-approval), and the three Beau Monde venues all allow dogs for at least the ceremony and photos. Nearby, The Grand Venue in York, Carolina Country Weddings in Mount Pleasant, and Brentwood Farms in Locust do too.
Can my dog attend the wedding reception?
At some venues, yes. PINE, The Revelry North End, Zen, Château Amelia, Aurora Farms, The Venue in Asheville, and Legare Waring House allow dogs at the reception. Most other venues limit dogs to the ceremony and photos.
Do dog-friendly wedding venues charge a pet fee?
Most venues on this list do not. The exceptions are Avenue in Greenville, which charges $500 only if there is a mess, and Aurora Farms, which charges $50 per dog for overnight guest house stays.
Do I need a pet handler for my dog at my wedding?
Almost always. Nearly every venue I called requires or recommends a dedicated handler who is not the bride or groom, and some require that handler to be insured.
Do you travel to destination weddings outside Charlotte?
Yes. I travel throughout the Carolinas, including the mountains, Greenville, and Charleston. Travel fees depend on distance.
Choosing Your Dog-Friendly Wedding Venue
start with the policy, then plan the day
The best dog-friendly wedding venues in Charlotte and across the Carolinas all have one thing in common: a clear policy you can plan around. Start by choosing the role you want your dog to play, then match it to a venue that allows it. Once the venue says yes, a dedicated handler takes care of the rest.
If you are still deciding whether your dog should be part of the day, my post on whether your dog should be in your wedding walks through the questions to ask. And if you need someone to stay with your pets while you are away on your honeymoon, overnight pet sitting keeps them comfortable at home.
