Wedding Pet and Event Attendant in South Charlotte
Your dog in the photos, and nobody watching the clock
On your wedding day, someone has to walk the dog, keep water down, hold the leash during photos, and get everyone home afterward. That someone shouldn’t be your maid of honor. I handle your dog from start to finish, so your family and wedding party can enjoy the day. Based in South Charlotte, with wedding pet concierge services across Charlotte and surrounding North and South Carolina communities.
How Does a Wedding Pet Attendant Help?
Your dog gets one person whose entire job that day is looking after them, from the first walk to the ride home.
Transportation
I pick your dog up and get them to the venue on time, then home again afterward, so nobody is leaving the reception to drive.
Pre-Event Walk and Potty Break
A proper walk before anyone puts a bow tie on them, so your dog arrives settled instead of wound up.
Photo Assistance
I stay just out of frame with treats and the leash, hand your dog off for the shot, and take them back the second it’s done.
Ceremony Handling
Down the aisle, at the altar, or waiting quietly at the back, whatever you’ve planned and whatever your dog can actually handle. Some couples call this a wedding dog handler, and that’s exactly what it is.
Vendor Coordination
I check in with your photographer and planner ahead of time, so your dog’s moment fits the timeline rather than being a surprise.
Care After the Event
Dinner, a last walk, and settling in at home or at the hotel while you’re still dancing. Overnight care can carry straight on from here.
What Is Included in Wedding Day Pet Care?

Wedding Pet Service Areas
I’m based in South Charlotte, and weddings are the one service that travels well beyond my usual pet-sitting area. For destination events, I’ll travel up to three hours out from Charlotte, throughout North and South Carolina.
Pet Care for Other Events, Too
Weddings are the headline act, but the same service works for any event where your pet is invited, or where you’ll be too busy hosting to hold the leash. Same packages, same meet-and-greet first.
If your event isn’t listed here, just ask. If a pet is part of the plan, it probably fits.
- Engagement and family photo sessions
- Elopements and vow renewals
- Rehearsal dinners and welcome parties
- Birthday parties, graduations, and showers
- Holiday gatherings and family reunions
- Celebrations of life, when a beloved pet should be there
Frequently Asked Questions
Anything not covered here? Call or text, and I’ll answer it directly.
Can we include our dog in our wedding photos?
That’s usually the whole reason couples book this. I bring your dog in for the shots your photographer has planned, stay out of frame with the leash and treats, and take them back the moment it’s done. If your dog only tolerates a few minutes of it, we get the shot early and let them rest.
Do you meet our dog before the wedding?
Always. Every booking starts with a free meet-and-greet, so your dog isn’t meeting a stranger on the most chaotic day of your year. We also walk through the timeline, the venue, and what your dog is realistically up for.
What if our dog gets overwhelmed on the day?
Then they come out. I watch for heat, noise, and crowd stress, and I’d rather pull your dog to a quiet spot early than push them through it. That judgment call is part of what you’re hiring, and we agree on the limits ahead of time.
Do you travel to destination weddings?
Yes, up to about three hours from Charlotte. Travel is included within 30 miles, and beyond that there’s a flat travel fee based on distance. If lodging is needed, you either provide it or reimburse the actual cost.
What happens to our dog after the ceremony?
Whatever you’ve arranged. I can take them home, to your hotel, or keep them with me for the rest of the evening. Many couples add overnight care for the wedding night and the honeymoon, which you can read about on the Overnight Pet Sitting page.
How far ahead should we book?
As early as you can. I take one wedding per day, and Saturdays in spring and fall go first. Reach out with your date even if the rest of the plan isn’t settled.
